FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE 2022 Summary

The FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference is a special event entirely organized by and for young researchers under the auspices of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) and the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). It is based on a successful ENABLE initiative of four renowned European Research Institutes: IRB Barcelona in Spain, NNF CPR in Denmark, RIMLS in the Netherlands and SEMM in Italy initially funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme. FEBS Junior Section December talk is approaching

The last month of this year has started and even in December, you can look forward to another presentation from the FEBS Junior Section Talks series. On Thursday, 8th December 2022 at 6PM (CET), the Junior Sections of the Austrian Society ÖGMBT (ÖGMBT/YLSA) will host a career development entitled “Graduating from Academia: How to leave Alcatraz and come back only as a tourist. The 5-steps to success.” The presentation will be delivered by Dr. Botond Cseh, Brand and Customer Manager in Oncology, Vienna.

Speaker introduction

Botond Cseh, PhD, did his postdoctoral research in the Max F. Perutz Laboratories, in Vienna, where he worked on the protein-protein complexes in the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway and RAF's role in vascular permeability and cytoskeletal rearrangements at endothelial cell-cell junctions. During his postdoc he started several initiatives to improve the careers of early-stage researchers, and he also became acquainted with the Open Innovation methods in science. After his postdoc he left academia for the private sector, where he worked as a consultant and on a number of user-driven projects. He is currently a Brand and Customer Manager in Oncology for the pharmaceutical industry.
